We closed 2014 by asking about ways formal mentoring could be better implemented in the U.S. graduate education system. In the New Year, what is one thing that you plan to do yourself, as a mentor or as a mentee, to broaden your mentor-mentee relationships?

I have been talking to employers about their career paths and any relationships they might have to help connect me with people in my field of study.
Since the problems with mentorship at this university are clearly systemic, I, along with others, have been working, through the student government, as well as other channels, on communicating with the university leadership about ideas for new policies that would promote more consistently high quality mentorship (an effort which is both difficult, and risky for some of us, but needs to be done).
